Want to save a trip to the landfill? This FREE event is available to all Calgarians and accepts unwanted household items and waste that are too large for your black carts.
Acceptable materials include: Old / broken electronics, batteries, garbage, and metals

We invite everyone to get involved and help spring clean our community
WASTE AND RECYCLING DEPOT
Rehabilitation Centre at 7, 11 Street NE
Please be prepared to unload your own vehicle.
Please be patient if there is a line up of cars. It’s free disposal, so it might be busy!
DONATIONS:
The Drop In Centre will be onsite collecting donations of household goods that are in good condition.
RECYCLING:
Electronics: tv’s, home entertainment systems, computers, laptops, fax wires, printers, cell phones
Metal: All metals – except fridges and freezers
WASTE:
Items that Can be disposed: used/broken household furniture (eg. mattresses, sofas, chairs, dressers), broken recreational items (eg. treadmills), lumber etc.
Items that CANNOT be disposed: car batteries, glass, fridges, freezers, microwaves, liquids, propane tanks, paint, chemicals, railway ties, sod or dirt, compost
ANNUAL LITTER PICK UP
BRCA community hall, 917 Centre Ave NE
Help clean up litter around the community, bring your family and friends.
Sign-in is between 9am-11am. Pick up litter anytime between 9am-1:30pm
You will be given supplies (pickers, bags, gloves), and you will be assigned an area of the neighbourhood, bring your own gloves if you have them
Please come dressed appropriately for weather
Everyone is welcome to come, but you don’t need to register each member of the family
You can also register at the community hall that morning
EVENT VOLUNTEERS
We need some help throughout the day to run the registration station, waste & recycling station, and to help with traffic control.
Registration station: 8:00am-11:00am (8 volunteers needed)
Traffic control: 8:30am-11:00am or 10:30am-1:30pm (4 volunteers for each shift needed)
Car unloading: 8:30am-11:00am or 10:30am-1:30am (4 volunteers for each shift needed). Please note, you must be able to lift and carry heavier objects.


Social & Meet and Greet with Harrison
We’re hosting a volunteer social at Murphy’s Mid-Century on Thursday, May 15, from 6–9 PM. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
